Located in the heart of Houston on Westheimer Road, The Oceanaire Seafood Room offers an exquisite fine dining experience centered around pristine, fresh seafood that elevates every visit into a celebration of flavor and elegance. Known for its classic yet vibrant seafood fare, this destination delivers not just a meal but a sensory journey marked by impeccable dishes, attentive service, and a welcoming atmosphere.
The cuisine here is a discerning blend of ocean-fresh ingredients and culinary mastery. Guests rave about signature plates such as the Oceanaire Signature Sourdough and Relish Tray, a perfect start that whets the appetite with its crisp, tangy accompaniments. The Buttermilk Fried Calamari enchants with its golden, tender bite, while hearty selections like the Maine Lobster Thermidor —with rich crab meat, Parmesan, and sherry— showcase indulgent flavors that linger long after the last forkful.
For those who crave a true taste of the sea, the Seafood Tower is an iconic highlight, a stunning arrangement of chilled shellfish featuring selections like Hooper Island oysters from Massachusetts, succulent jumbo shrimp, and gorgeously presented pearly oysters on the half shell. This visually impressive tower not only satisfies a deep craving for fresh seafood but also sparks a feeling of shared celebration perfect for special occasions or memorable nights out.
The menu goes beyond tradition with chef’s specialties that command attention, such as the Bourbon Street U6 Prawns accompanied by rosemary garlic crostini and tangy sauces, or the Massachusetts Jumbo Sea Scallops resting elegantly on a bed of sweet pea & mascarpone risotto beneath an oregano cream and Parmesan crisp—each bite perfectly balancing richness and brightness. Adventurous diners might also revel in the Ecuador Swordfish Black & Bleu with caramelized onions and bleu cheese butter, a hearty yet complex plate that exemplifies the restaurant’s attention to nuanced flavors.
Ambiance is equally refined. The dining room boasts spacious booths and an abundance of windows that fill the space with natural light, creating an inviting yet polished setting. While the décor nods to a timeless elegance that some describe as “dated,” it remains immaculately maintained and comfortably upscale, enhancing the relaxed yet sophisticated mood. Valet parking is available, adding convenience to the overall seamless experience.
Customers consistently highlight the exceptional quality of both food and service. James Harris praises the freshness and the seafood towers, while Alicia George recounts an extraordinary visit celebrating a birthday with attentive, knowledgeable server Jackie, who elevated the evening with her professionalism and clear passion for the menu. Roy Patrick shares his delight in a last-minute meal, where perfectly cooked filet mignon paired with shrimp and crispy truffle fries satisfied his appetite and delivered rewarding flavors. Julio G’s nod to the chicken fried lobster, noted for its tender lobster paired with cheesy grits, echoes many guests’ enthusiasm for the restaurant’s unique takes on classic seafood dishes.
While some reviews indicate room for improvement in service speed, these moments hardly detract from an overall sense of dining satisfaction and culinary brilliance. The Oceanaire invites seafood lovers and fine dining aficionados alike to indulge in its ever-fresh offerings and classic preparations — a place where every bite tells a story of the sea’s bounty, artfully crafted and thoughtfully served.
For your next special dinner or a decadent night out in Houston, The Oceanaire Seafood Room promises an authentic seafood feast, an inviting atmosphere, and a genuine attention to detail that will leave a lasting impression.

Oceanaire has really good fresh seafood. I love the seafood towers and lobster. The service is great. The decor is dated, but in mint condition. There are tons of windows and the booths are nice. Also, valet is available.
This was a great extraordinary visit. We came together for a girls night l, GIRLS-giving, and to also celebrate our cousin birthday. We had a phenomenal time. Top tier waitress, Jackie. She was very professional, proficient with the menu and answered all our questions with confidence and knowledge. Although we were her 1st table after going solo accordingto her. All I can say is Jackie did an awesome job, who would've guessed that we were her 1st table alone. She serviced us as a seasoned server. We loved her energy, her professionalism, her customer service. She will be one of the greatest. Thank you for making our girl-giving a memorable moment, Jackie. Secondly, the restrurant was GIVING, meaning very elegant and classy amd great atmosphere. Lastly, the food was delicious and of great quality. Our experience was amazing. We will be back. Thank you again for a exceptional experience.
Popped in for a last-minute weeknight dinner. I told Rob the waiter, "I want a little of everything!". He suggested, deviled egg for an appetizer, Filet mignon with shrimp and asparagus and garlic truffle fries. It more than enough for a hungry guy and it was DELICIOUS! The steak was perfectly prepared (medium), the fries were crispy and the deviled eggs were Cajun and outstanding! Hakeem kept the drinks flowing too! I'm not from Houston and I RARELY say this...I think they should charge MORE! In Miami, L.A. or NYC, you'd easily pay 40% more for delicious meal in a higher end restaurant. HIGHLY RECOMMEND for a date night or business dinner!
Nice place, very good service and very very good fresh sea food. The seafood tower was really good with enough food for four. The chicken fried lobster is a popular dish and it was really good. The lobster was really tender and the cheese grits tasted good with it.
Amazing seafood. There is room for improvement on service. This is my second time here. The chicken fried lobster is amazing. I tried the scallops a la plancha, seared on the outside, nice and juicy on the inside. The baked Alaska was great, the video doesn't show the flames much, but it was a good experience. The service as pretty slow, to take our order, bring our drinks and food. The floor manager and I guess restaurant manager came by to check if all was ok, I mentioned the wait on the drinks, they apologized, I asked for a menu and it took a very long time again. Had to ask a different person. There were a lot of people but not fully booked so maybe there is room for improvement. The oysters chef's selection was delicious.
everything was wonderful. servers and staff went above and beyond, the bartender even hunted down olives for my dad. they made us feel so cared for the entire time. Great experience!
My family and I loved the dining experience at the Galleria location, our server James was superb and made sure even our kids had a luxurious dining service. The food was very fresh and too notch. The lobster was delicious and I would highly recommend trying that. The restaurant itself wasn’t busy on Friday night and we had a very relaxing evening!
Visited for dinner and was delighted by their welcoming and personable service. Very knowledgeable crew that made helpful and relevant recommendations. Food selections were prepared and plated very well. Appetizers, entrees, dessert were all remarkably tasty. The carajillo recommended with dessert was fantastic.
